It was so cool to photograph these 2 girls for the first time. You can tell that they enjoy hanging around together They’re so cute! I loved their smiley faces!! I’m glad today was a nicer day for their short photo shoot! Out of the images this is my favorite for the project.
YES!!! I asked him to be my model for the 365 project today and he said no, but then we negotiated and before he changed his mind, I ran to find something for him to wear. This was a super short photo shoot. He gave me a lot of different faces, but I think I should pick this one for the project.
“Light It Up Blue For Autism”
I’m honor to have Angel in my 365 days 2014 project.
I asked his mom, what would she want people to know about Autism and this is what she wrote:
April is autism awareness month. 1 in 88 children have autism. Angel is 13, has autism and is non-verbal. He was diagnosed at the age of 3. You asked what I want people to know about autism? Autism is what we live with everyday. If you know one child with autism…. you know one child with autism… meaning no two are alike. What do I want to tell people… educate yourself. Don’t be quick to judge… you never know if the child you think is being a brat has autism. Be careful what you say around a child with autism… they do have feelings and they are listening. I don’t ever want pity, although a kind ear is appreciated more than you could ever imagine. Angel has taught me to be patient. We are not a perfect family … we try to make everyday memorable.
if someone wants to have an autism conversation … most of what I would say is in this link http://voices.yahoo.com/what-parents-autistic-kids-want-know-2902847.html
Angel’s Family (part of 92-365-2014 project)
“Light It Up For Autism”
My heart shrinks just knowing how much love and patience this family has. God bless them always.
I asked Angel’s mom,
1. How important is for an autistic child to have the support of his family?
mom: It is important to work together… and show patience and love to Angel. we are teaching Santi (his younger brother) that he has to love his brother and help him be his voice.
We are his voice… his family.
2. What special things do you enjoy doing as a family?
We love to be together … and what we enjoy the most is nature… when we go camping we are at peace… and Angel can run and be himself without people looking at him like he is weird.
